Vanquisher growled softly to himself, flicking old stubs of wood and stones across the scarred and scratched table, glancing at the crumpled paper in his fist. How the hell was he supposed to cross a lake and kill a prince?! He couldn't swim a lake! But of course, his employer did not offer a boat. Only an quick explanation that a man would be here for Vanquisher and tell him how he can reach the other side.

Gitan could feel and see little flashes of past interaction when she ran her hand gently over the scarred table. Scarred from Vanquisher's attacks when he grew impatient, and Oleander's nervous nail-digging.
She cast a glance at the empty, messy beds. Oleander never let them put the beds far from the centre of the ship. Possible out of fear of phantom sailors. Or the rot from wet wood.
